Quick Start & FAQ
From zero to your first on-chain run in a few minutes, and answers to the questions players ask most.
Quick Start
1. Open the game
The first launch plays a short guided run, no wallet needed — see Your First Run.
2. Try it as a guest (optional)
Press Play as Guest on the sign-in screen and pick Easy, Medium or Hard. Guests get full Campaign-style runs with a starter item pool, but nothing is saved and PvP, quests and the marketplace need a wallet. See Guest Mode.
3. Switch your wallet to devnet
| Wallet | How |
|---|---|
| Phantom | Settings → Developer Settings → turn on Testnet Mode, then pick Solana Devnet (not Testnet). |
| Solflare | Settings → General → Network → Devnet. |
| Backpack | Settings → turn on Developer Mode, then select Solana Devnet as the network. |
Wallet menus change between versions; if a step moved, look for “developer”, “testnet” or “network” in your wallet's settings.
4. Get free devnet SOL
Copy your wallet address, open faucet.solana.com, choose Devnet, paste the address and request SOL. If the faucet asks you to sign in with GitHub or tells you to wait, do that or try later.
5. Sign in and create your profile
Connect Phantom, Backpack or Solflare, choose a name and sign once. This creates your on-chain profile. New profiles start with 20 free Campaign runs. See Account & Wallets.
6. Fund your game wallet and play
Your first run asks for a 0.09 SOL deposit into your in-game wallet (the session signer). It pays the on-chain rent for your runs and signs every move for you, so there are no wallet pop-ups while you play. The deposit is not spent: the rent comes back when each session closes, and you can withdraw the balance from the Profile card on the Hub whenever no session is open. See Sessions.
What the SOL Is For
| Action | Cost | Comes back? |
|---|---|---|
| Campaign run | 0.09 SOL game-wallet deposit (a run locks about 0.065 SOL of rent) | Yes, when the session closes |
| Duel | 0.10 SOL deposit + 0.1 SOL stake | Deposit yes; the winner takes 95% of the 0.2 SOL pot |
| Pit Draft | 0.1 SOL stake | The winner takes the pot, as in Duels |
| Gauntlet | 0.10 SOL deposit + 0.01 SOL entry | Deposit yes; entries fund the prize pool |
| More Campaign runs | 0.05 SOL for 20, after the 20 free ones | No |
Each on-chain transaction also costs a tiny network fee. Accepting a quest creates a small progress account paid from your wallet.
Rewards
All SOL won in the game is devnet SOL.

FAQ
Does it cost real money?
No. Everything runs on devnet, and devnet SOL is free from the faucet. There is no token and no airdrop.
The faucet says it sent SOL, but my wallet shows 0.
Your wallet is probably still on mainnet. Switch it to Devnet (step 3) and the balance appears.
Do I get my deposit back?
Yes. Rent from each session returns to your game wallet when the session closes, and anything above 0.11 SOL flows back to your main wallet automatically. Withdraw the rest from the Profile card on the Hub when no session is open.
It says a session is already open, or keeps asking me to override.
Press Resume Adventure to continue it, or Abandon & Start New once to close it on chain and get its rent back. Override is a last resort: it leaves the old session's rent behind. Abandoning a Duel also forfeits its 0.1 SOL stake.
A move or a fight is stuck.
Wait 30 seconds, then reload. Your run lives on chain, so a reload puts you back where you were.
Does my guest progress carry over to my wallet?
No. Guest runs are local and nothing is saved. Your wallet profile starts fresh, with 20 free Campaign runs.
Can I play in my phone's browser?
Not yet. On phones, app.dungeonsandmoles.com shows a landing page. Play on a desktop browser, or on Android once the Seeker dApp Store listing is live.
Which wallets work?
Phantom, Backpack and Solflare, on web and Android.
What happens when I lose?
In Campaign, you only lose the run: cleared stages stay cleared and you can retry. In Duels and Pit Draft, you lose your stake.
